Technology Transfer

Technology transfer represents the process of converting promising research topics into marketable goods or services with the aim of facilitating the further development of new industrial or commercial products.

Mapping different stage of product development process to Technology Readiness Levels criterion, it can be notice that research of a novel technology (universities) corresponds to TRL 1-3 and readiness for production (industry) corresponds to TRL 6-7. The technology transfer is related to TRL 4-6, levels which are known as Technology Development and Technology Demonstrations.
